Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (English: A stone, a mirror) is an upcoming Indian Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh.[1] It stars producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, in his acting debut, Hansika Motwani and Santhanam, whilst featuring Harris Jayaraj's music and Balasubramaniem's cinematography. The film is named after a song from Rajesh's debut film Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009). Oru Kal Oru Kannadi will be released on April 13, 2012.

Casting
During the pre-production stage, several actresses including Trisha, Nayantara and Shruti Haasan were considered to play the female lead but Hansika Motwani was eventually signed. The protagonist was revealed to be an unemployed youngster, as unofficial reports of a ticket collector and a band master were brushed aside. Arya, Sneha and Andrea Jeremiah were roped in to do cameo roles in the film.Hansika was forced to learn Tamil, for the director wanted her to speak fluently in the film. Rajesh wanted the same crew members from his first two ventures, Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran but unfortunately things did not work out that way due to date hassles faced by the technicians. Cinematographer Nirav Shah was to wield the camera but since he was unavailable, the makers have decided to proceed with Balasubramaniam.
Filming
A photo shoot was held in February 2011 with the lead. The shooting of the film began in March 2011.On the 26th of April, filming was held in Tidel Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Rajiv Gandhi Road. The crew flew to Jordan and Dubai to shoot a song in December 2011. Director canned a few shots at the PVR Theater in Ampa Mall, Aminjikarai. The heroine Hansika Motwani and Saranya were doing a scene together there. In second schedule, director Rajesh shot a scene on Udayanidhi Stalin, Azhagam Perumal and Saranya Ponvannan at KK Nagar and completed the second schedule. During a schedule, Santhanam was hospitalized due to illness.
Release
A two minute teaser trailer, introducing the main characters of the film, was screened during 7aum Arivu in theaters. The film was certified as "U" by censor board.The movie will be released on 13 April 2012.

The album features five songs, composed by Harris Jayaraj. The composing sessions took place in Singapore and Ooty. The audio launch was held at the Sathyam Cinemas on 5 March 2012. Actors Karthi, Surya, Jeeva and Arya were present at the event. A three minute trailer and song sequences was screened for the guests and media people as well. Musicperk.com rated the album 7.5/10 quoting " After Nanban whose songs were big hits, this album doesn’t fail to impress."
